For instance, ceramic tile works well with a lot of the Southwest versions, especially if it’s in bright colors such as yellow.

It’s almost always better to keep the footprint in the same place unless you have a very awkward kitchen. If you have some cupboard doors that won’t open because of your appliances then you may just want to remove these to get look of open shelves with lots of molding and then paint the insets of these a different color.

The key to keeping your footprint the same is that it does save you so much money. You’re not going to have to worry about moving electrical outlets or plumbing. Plus, whenever you try to take down walls there will almost always be unexpected surprises that you don’t know how to know deal with.

This allows the light to flow from room to room to give you a larger appearance. In this case consider going with a lot of bright white cabinetry. You also might want to embrace the vintage design with honeycomb tile on the floor which can also be white. Another important consideration is the size of the window because the more light you have in the space the larger your room is going to appear.

The decoration of your space is also an important consideration. Kitchen swags can be a no sew project since they don’t use a ton of fabric. This is perfect if you have wood blinds or plantation shutters in your kitchen and use it to add a more feminine element. You can even consider draping these from old vintage door knobs.

Another option is to consider virtual kitchen design like you’d find at BHG.com or the HomeDepot site. Kitchen uses may require you to work with preset pictures or items from the manufacturers store. However, it can give you a specific look for color palettes and you might even be able to upload your own photo which is going to allow you to get an idea of how colors will look together. However, it really doesn’t tell you exactly how it’s going to work in your space just because of changes in lighting as well as square footage.
