It also has a lot of warm wood tones, which can be a little bit of rustic feeling. It is important have a lot of windows or French doors in this kind of theme just because you do want to make sure that it does have a very heavy feeling to it. You might use the wood tones on a few surfaces such as white cabinets and floors. Then you can bring in other colors for the countertops and paint. You could also do the exact opposite by using a butcher block countertop, painting cabinetry, stone floors, and just use a warm wood tone paint on the walls.

However, instead, you can just find ways to make a big impact by putting in a new range hood. There are art a lot of different options for this. You could go with a glass and stainless steel fixture that will keep your room looking light and airy. French country kitchens usually have very ornate arrangements that almost mimic fireplaces with tons of molding and tile.
